Honeslty, being in the marine industry for over 20 years I see a few issues, ok yes great fuel mileage BUT if you never drop that gear case for 1k hrs in FL you’re never get it off. What about the gear case oil? 99% of marine service is preventative so it’s tough to say. Yes I’d be interested but I’d def treat it like a gas and at least drop the units and fluid every 100hr as well as the fuel filters considering that’s pretty much the only killer other than saltwater!

as long as you run it above 3000 rpm .its worthless..since it will use a lot of diesel to run . and the life of the engine will be short compared to the running high rpm

@Nick Ritchie: So it’s 860 lbs about 200 lbs heavier than 4stroke 350 available in 300hp and 350hp burns 30 percent less fuel than gasoline 4 stroke if diesel prices where close to gasoline prices it would be worth it for the charter guys but for the average joe no way

The motor itself is good and very powerful compared to The 300hp Yamaha, but too much electronics giving error codes. throws the whole system out completely. Ended been stuck at sea and waited for assistance at sea. E.C.U. plugs way to close to the water inside the shell. Thats just our experience with them. maybe we were just unlucky
