My sophomore year I slept through 4th period everyday, because of meds I was on. No matter how hard I tried I always fell asleep. My teacher was kind and patient and started giving me printed slides of the lesson.

I kept a bean bag in a corner in my room for this reason, I also kept cup o’noodles, peanut butter/pilot bread, and other healthy snacks. You can’t teach a tired, hungry student and sometimes 1-3 would ask if they could take some home to have something to eat. Great job, Mr. Shutes!❤️

there was alot of fighting in my house. my ma would stumble in at bar close 3am Yell and fight and wake us up. alot of teachers let me sleep without ever saying anything. I still was b honor roll and graduated with my class.

I wish every teacher understood that everyone is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Those kids are coping with more stress keeping their stories in that it physically exhausts them.
