“It’s really easy to be a sweet guy when nothing is expected of you.” This is so true for so many different types of relationships.

This time I agree with you totally. Can’t even imagine anybody being in a “situationship”. Sounds like a losing proposition just from the wording

My advice is to get a cat a run from both. The relationship with the married guy isn't going anywhere and the successful guy is who your parents want to date. Live your life like a cork on the open seas going wherever the tide takes you.

Tell new guy about your situationship. He may or may not stick around, probably not though if you're not ready to end it.

If you are asking this question, you know that you probably won’t feel good about dating two men in parallel. It’s not inherently bad to keep your options open and keep the hookup and keep looking. But it’s not for everyone. You can part on good terms and free your time and heart to date new people.

The situationship sounds fine but she said it’s just a placeholder. If she needs a clean break to explore things with new guy, so be it; break it off now. If she wants to keep that placeholder in place, and she can handle it mentally, I think that’s OK too. Placeholder is not exclusive with her either.
