@getreeldad: I’m not a gymnast and I don’t really know what age gymnasts typically learn these at, but I figured it can’t be too hard, right? 🤷 I have a lot of experience coaching movement and this pattern is one I’ve found very effective. Start by demoing what you want to see happen and let them try. Don’t offer any other instruction or tips. Just see what they can do already. From there, you can break the movement down further and then assist where needed. I actually REALLY loved the balloon here because besides being fun, it actually helps you create tension in your body and keep the legs longer. What do you think? Do your kids enjoy gymnastics? Also.
