LIQUIDITY is simply your freedom — the ability to buy and sell smoothly, whenever you need to. A liquid option means easy in, easy out. An illiquid one means you might get trapped: unable to exit without overpaying, watching your paper profit evaporate because there's no buyer. How do you spot liquidity before you're stuck? Three signs: tight bid-ask spreads (a small toll), high volume (today's crowd is active), and high open interest (committed holders are in the room). When all three show up, the door is wide open in both directions. This became a hard safety rule for me: as a beginner, I only touch liquid options. It doesn't matter how perfect the setup looks — if I can't get out cleanly, I don't get in. Liquidity doesn't just protect your entry.
