The difference being sally decided to be a butt and sit on us. That’s why it was so bad flooding wise. Isaeas is fast moving and supposed to be in and out in comparison to sally.

Tbh I work as a climatologist. I grew up in South FL and went through hurricanes Sally and Michael. A lot of people don’t take it seriously and it’s why I always say, don’t listen to others. If you feel unsafe, then leave. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Nothing prepares you to waking up in the middle of the night and there’s water surrounding you because your home is flooded from a hurricane. Even if you just drive and stay at an overnight car park or whatever, it’s better than being in harms way.

I was 5 months pregnant during Sally and I can still hear the tornado that blew right by my house without touching it. Or when it got completely silent because we were literally in the eye of the storm! I didn't sleep for days. 😭

People don’t realize that isn’t ALWAYS about the wind SPEED… the wind can be “slow” and still push all that ocean water into the coast and cause major flooding
