bossier doe's original reconstruction still gives me the heebie jeebies. whoever did it didnt have a good understanding of anatomy, and made her lips too far down from her teeth, and forgot to give her lower eyelids. the reconstruction you showed was so much better, and i'm glad they found her from it.

My great aunt was a Jane doe she went missing in 1985 and her body was found in 1986 at hillside park in FortWorth and never got identified until this year 2026 when they finally did dna and found a match to my grandfather. She was hitch hiking to the bars in Dallas got picked up in FortWorth and took her and murdered her. There’s no pictures of her because of a house fire her name was Brenda Darnell McLerran

this is making me so emotional. being nameless and unidentified for so long. every single one of these people had a life and family and hobbies and likes and dislikes, and for a long time they were reduced to john/jane does. i’m extremely happy when someone does get id’d, despite how horrific the circumstances are. i’m glad they’re recognized. and you can tell a lot of professionals put a lot of effort and love into their reconstructions. just such a sad topic

there’s a case i learned about in forensics where a forensic sculptor and psychologists worked together to depict a murder suspect who wasn’t found for decades and the psychologists literally guessed his glasses right and things like his hair line, what wrinkles were most prominent.. and i can’t remember the name but it just blew my mind

Imagine you haven’t see your friend in a while and you come across their reconstruction. It’s so uncanny and unsettling but you can tell it’s them, there’s no way it’s not. I can imagine that is a bottom ten human experience.

The science and art of facial reconstruction is so incredible to me. I don't know how people do it, but god it's so baffling to see how accurate some are to the victims.

It’s really scary how they don’t really look alike but for some reason I’d be able to recognize them if I knew them personally.

I feel so bad for all these people and all of the other John and Jane Does out there. imagine dying, and no one knows what happened to you or where you went, and just being forgotten. I hope all of these people have found peace

We gotta give credit to whoever did the first one. I was shocked at how good of a job they did and how close it looked like to her.
