@thecalistacut: Our Indigenous children DESERVE opportunity. Their safety DESERVES to be prioritised. Your land acknowledgement in your Monday morning meeting on level 22 doesn’t help.
I spent a fair bit of time in the communities when I grew up in the Pilbara. Every Aussie needs to see these places with their own eyes.

it astounds me that we had to apologise for our atrocities yet their treatment of their own community it still continues

The only way we are going to get answers is ONP! Pauline is calling for an inquiry into where all the money is going. All the greedy money grabbers will pay for what they’ve been doing by taking much needed funds from these communities. Being on ONP!

Everything you say is correct. I worked in remote communities and at Don Dale children’s prison in Darwin .. the poor kids loved coming in.. safe, fed, clean and sports amenities .. but the things they were in for was usually sexually abusing another child… because that’s what had happened to them.. and the amount of STDS in kids in communities is SO HIGH.

I worked in child protection for 20 years. Everything you are saying is correct. And sometimes, if there were 6 people at a meeting, EVERY SINGLE ONE would start there contribution with their own acknowledgment of country! 6 in one meeting. A total waste of time and money.

Exactly same thing happened in New Zealand by the Labour Party putting the treaty principles created in 1970s ahead of children’s safety . Lucky National had removed this crap and put the child’s best interests first not the ideology
