Did you just engineer a non-existent issue? Literally never seen a 3.6 head gasket blow unless it was overheated.

I think the customer overheated that engine. cause I have never in my 25+ years as a mopar tech seen a head or headgasket issue out of the 3.6 pentastar. but I have seen customer overheat these engines and say it never over heated. its why mopar now puts temp seals on all their engines to verify they havent been overheated because its been customers not manufactured defect

13 million of these engines produced with less than a half a percent failure rate. One of the most reliable V6’s ever according to Wards. All of mine have been great.

There no chance in hell a dealer would install an aftermarket gasket on a warranty job 😳

That engine is fairly reliable for a Chrysler product.

imo the 3.6s are hit or miss some you get and they have buttloads of problems than ive seen some that have 300k no issues and the customer says its the best engine they've ever had

The fix is to put a device in the “open deck” that stops the cylinder from shifting.

So basically. U need to rebuild the 3.6 pentastar because of design flaws.. that's crazy. I need lifters. Probably a cam. Aluminum oil thingy, replaced thermostat, water pump, need a better radiator AND now.. better gaskets... 😂😂

So is there a way to weld little bridges between the cylinder wall and the block to stabilize the top of the cylinders? Seems like something should be done before reassembling it with a fault like that...

Customer abused it and overheated it or you wouldn't have had to resurface the heads. I've got several with over 200k on them. Great engines other than the roller bearings in the rockers and the oil cooler under the intake. Rockers are easy to change out as is the oil cooler. The oil cooler issue is mostly because the orings take a set and don't seal over time. A light coating of silicone on new O-rings will fix that.

I like your videos but I want to see proof of what your talking about. Mopar tech for a decade now and never seen this. Oil coolers and thermostats are the main failures. Leads back to customer overheats it before headgasket blows. Would actually like to see proof and would be grateful could be a lesson well learned.

that's the problem with all cars! companies cut corners for these mass production engines because they need a lot in a hurry! the Chrysler 3.6, the Chevy 1.4, the Hyundai 1.8! these engines are in most of their vehicles. so they need a lot of them really fast for really cheap which is why they fail!
