@browneyedgurl801: FAFO! Federal agents and local police moved through Skid Row this morning and hit the open-air drug trade that has operated there for years. Warrants targeted dealers accused of pushing fentanyl, meth, PCP, and heroin, often from tents and storefronts set up to look like ordinary street life. Cash, guns, and narcotics were seized, and suspects were taken into custody across Los Angeles County. For too long, the people living on those blocks have been treated as a permanent backdrop instead of neighbors who deserve safe streets. Dealers have thrived by keeping the addicted dependent and by collecting whatever public money reaches them. Enforcement is not cruelty. It is the minimum duty of a city that claims to care about the vulnerable. One sweep will not erase decades of disorder, but it draws a line that should have been drawn long ago. Law applies on Fifth and Crocker the same way it applies everywhere else. More warrants and more arrests should follow until the trade is broken.
