@_1_iceprincess: 🔪 Most people know Christa Pike as the woman who survived her own execution — but did you know she was convicted of trying to kill *again* while already on death row? On August 24, 2001, during a fire evacuation at her Nashville prison, Pike was placed in a recreation cage with two other inmates: Patricia Jones and Natasha Cornett. When a fight broke out between Jones and Cornett, Pike came up behind Jones and tried to strangle her with a shoestring. Pike claimed she was protecting Cornett — and in a wild twist, Jones herself later testified that Pike probably saved Cornett's life that day. But the jury didn't buy it as justification: on August 12, 2004, Pike was convicted of attempted first-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years. She was already on death row… and got 25 more years on top of it. 😳 Want the full Christa Pike story? Watch and listen to the first episode now and our bonus episode "The Execution That Failed" drops TOMORROW. 🔪 Do you think Pike was really protecting Cornett — or was it something darker? 👇 Be sure to tune in Trooper's Crime Desk ! #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #ChristaPike #trooperscrimedesk
