@drmitchrobinson: Retinol isn't the only option when it comes to fine lines and texture. Retinoids have a strong evidence base, but plenty of people find them irritating or simply can't use them. Glycolic acid and niacinamide are two ingredients with research behind them that are often better tolerated. Glycolic acid works on the surface, exfoliating to improve texture. Niacinamide supports the skin barrier and has been studied for its effects on fine lines and tone. Together they can be a practical, evidence-based combination for many skin types. As always, SPF every day, especially when using an AHA. The best routine is the one your skin tolerates and you'll actually stick with. As a dermatologist what about the mountain of chemicals on these products? You professionals seem to ignore the basics to these fundamental issues. Looking after your skin is essential but a chemist is a dr*g lab.
