I raised my son up until 13 with his dad, I thought for sure he would make an attempt at some point to keep in touch with his son if not his daughters. It’s been 15 years and he has not reached out one time to our son. I did everything I could to make life better for my son, but I met with backtalk and entitlement. My daughter’s on the other hand which are five and seven years older than him are completely the opposite. They are grateful and kind and generous and loving, and I never have any problems nor have I ever had any problems with them. I would never want another son. My poor grandmother had 11 boys and two girls my mom and my aunt. I feel so bad for her.

I’ve seen a few commentaries on your original video. All of those have been pro-authoritarian with power and control as the foundation for parenting. That never works. That is the reason behind most parent-adult child estrangements because it is emotional neglect and abuse. I think you did well holding conversations about behavior and actions. As mothers, it’s important to hold those conversations, see behavior and actions in the age-appropriate context, and give them space to grow into themselves. 💚

Be kind to yourself. We do the best we know and we tend to place all of the responsibility on ourselves. We teach others how to treat us, but we don’t realize that until later in life. Work on your happiness. Again, be kind to yourself.

I had a feeling the father had something to do with how the son is acting out. That emotional inability to connect to you, he got that from his fucking father.

I've noticed this regarding lots of men, particularly I've seen men in my vicinity with multiple baby mothers give attention to the children of the woman who is CURRENTLY giving them sexual access, if they argue and she closes up shop, the children are functionally abandoned and it's on to the next. They cycle through them like that.
