@umukellastv: ‼️News Updates: JFK Back in Custody as Supreme Court Apology and Bail Proceedings Stall‼️ Plaintiff’s counsel Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara Esq. popularly known as JFK, has been returned to the Pademba Road Correctional Centre following a brief appearance before the Supreme Court of Sierra Leone, where proceedings concerning an anticipated apology and bail application did not proceed as earlier expected. The development also prompts UmuKella’s TV to correct an earlier report concerning the status of the proceedings. Kamara Esq. was brought before the Court reportedly in connection with an opportunity to make a further apology over statements attributed to him during Wednesday’s proceedings. His earlier apology had reportedly been deemed inadequate by the Court. The matter highlights important principles relating to judicial authority, due process, the dignity of court proceedings and the rule of law. Under constitutional principles, proceedings before the courts must be conducted in accordance with established legal procedures, while the rights and interests of all parties remain subject to the determination of the competent court. It is important to emphasise that the latest development does not, by itself, constitute a final determination of the substantive issues before the Court. Any further applications, orders or legal remedies remain matters for judicial determination. Following the brief proceedings, Kamara Esq. was returned to the Pademba Road Correctional Centre, pending further developments in the matter. However, UmuKella’s TV remains committed to accurate, balanced and responsible reporting, particularly on matters involving the judiciary, constitutional principles and the administration of justice.
