Girl i hate this rule. They are so fast to recruit and send the 18year old babies to bootcamp but don't let their parents go through because of legal status. This country is so selfish 😭

My dad went on base all you need to have is a Mexican passport or ID identifying yourself they will be taking you in for fingerprints but thank god he was able to go in n out of base multiple times.

I had one of my students parents not be able to get in base so they were going to wait for him at the Mc Donald’s outside….I said nope. Got in my car and brought them in base since they don’t check passenger IDs. They were able to see their son graduate.

Hey! I’m not sure if they were unable to come on base because of their immigration status. If that was the case, now that he’s in the military, he may be able to petition for them through Military Parole in Place (PIP), which can help certain undocumented immigrants apply for adjustment of status. There are also attorneys who provide free or low-cost legal assistance through https://www.aila.org/client-information

They deserve to be there, their son is going to fight for this country. The idea that they wouldn’t allow them on base to watch him graduate it’s disgusting and I’m sorry that they experienced this. Congratulations to this new recruit and so much love to this family.

Our family experienced this a few months ago. And my cousin not being able to have his parents present is truly heartbreaking. Congrats mijo. As the mom of 3 marines I can tell you that they are extremely proud of you.

I hate that we have so many of our own people in the military including myself sister of a Marine veteran and they have so much hatred towards us!!!!! They are so quick to recruit our young Latinos/Hispanics yet we are discriminated on a daily basis specially with this administration! May god bless you young soldier and every soldier out there! Thank you for your sacrifices and your service to a country that truly doesn’t deserve you all! 🙏🏻❤️

Parents do not need afraid to go be there for your kids my parents drive from CA to fort Jackson in South Carolina all for my sister we showed up a day before and got a pass for family day & graduation my mom used her Mexican passport & my dad his CA drivers license we'd do it for her all over again anyday !! 🤍
