wait I had no idea other clinics are sedating for vd’s?! We sedate if the patient is aggressive or way too stressed but otherwise our vd’s are like always on awake patients!

one time my dog ran off and got kicked by my neighbors horse 🥲 we had to do quick unsedated xrays and there was only one wet so I had to help him lmfao 😭 fortunately my dog is an angel at the vets office 🩷 she’s fine btw just slight bruising of the lungs

I teach rad lab for a vet tech program and I constantly tell my students to advocate for their patients and themselves and ask for sedation! Love the song choice too!

Vet clinic I interned at rarely ever sedated and I’m fear free certified and it made me so uncomfortable seeing those dogs and cats in distress

We don't sedate everything because owners dont want to pay for it. Which....fair because why is it so expensive? But if the animal doesn't cooperate, we don't force it. We tell owners they either have to sedate or we just can't do it.
