Saylor has been identified as the little girl who was critically injured during Thursday’s shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon. She uses a wheelchair and, according to Kyle Giamanco, who knows her family, underwent surgery following the attack. The gunman reportedly opened fire inside a special education classroom. Three children and a teacher were killed. A fundraiser organized by Trisa Lovejoy describes Saylor as a loving, feisty little girl with a fierce determination to thrive. She is a daughter, a sister and a niece whose family is now standing beside her as she recovers from something no child should ever experience. According to the fundraiser, Saylor already had significant medical needs before this shooting. Both of her parents are self-employed, and their ability to work has been limited while caring for her. They now face additional medical expenses, time away from work, lodging and transportation costs while trying to focus on their daughter. This is Saylor. Look at her smile.
