@amanda.d210: October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this one is deeply personal to me. Once i celebrated October as my birthday month and now awareness of what I’ve been through. I know what it feels like to be afraid, to feel isolated, to question yourself, and to wonder if things will ever get better. I also know how difficult it can be to find the strength to speak up, walk away, heal, and rebuild your life. To every victim who is still trying to survive — I see you. To every survivor who is still healing — I stand with you. To the person who hasn’t told anyone yet — you are not alone, and it is not your fault. And to those who have made it out but still carry the scars — your story matters, your healing matters, and you are worthy of peace. This goes for men and woman, domestic violence isn’t love. It isn’t jealousy. It isn’t “just an argument.” It is abuse, and no one deserves to be physically, emotionally, mentally, sexually, or financially controlled or harmed. If you are still in it, please know that you don’t have to figure everything out today. Take one safe step at a time. Reach out to someone you trust. Make a safety plan.
