Mojang gave us Happy Ghasts, we used them to bomb the land below, using the infants as basic additions to stone walls or pillars. Mojang gave us cushions, we used them to gain more speed to fight people easier or escape. Update after update, addition after addition, mechanic after mechanic, every single thing WE were given has been used for the worst things. Steve isn't evil because of what HE can do. He's evil because he saw what WE'VE done and realized, he can do that too. Steve is known to always break boundaries... And guess who's behind that big screen he's stuck in.

@Adam Collins: If you think about it, it’s a never-ending loop. Herobrine’s whole goal is to stop Steve from progressing, but Steve is strong enough to defend himself against him. Steve eventually completes the game, gets bored, and moves on to take over other video games. Over time, he gains so much knowledge that his eyes turn white, and he becomes Herobrine. When he finally realizes that what he’s done is pure evil, he goes back to try to stop his past self from progressing—but he fails, restarting the cycle. And just for fun, Herobrine also creates a school for monsters, training them to become strong enough to defeat Steve and stop his progress. But eventually, even the school becomes another source of nostalgia, bringing everything back to the beginning and starting the entire sequence all over again.
