Hannah & Tracey :
I'm only a paramedic, but this is great advice for my field too. I may not tuck my patients in, but I always make it a point to speak to them (if able) before I legitimately transfer care to another provider. I also keep notes from my life changing patients to make sure I don't forget why I got into this field!

I recently had a brief hospital stay. The hospitalist came by every night to ask about my day. it was so meaningful to me.

Wish you were one of my attendings! I feel like in medicine we get so lost in the nitty gritty of presentations/pontificating about esoteric information that we genuinely forget to connect with the patient

I work in mental health…I keep a “greatest hits” file…every kudos, thank you, award, recognition of my efforts…I keep..and when I want to quit…I read my greatest hits.

As a severely burnt out teacher, you actually have no idea how much I needed to hear this. 🥺

So wish all doctors would do this . Not treat patients like a number . Had some very bad experiences. 😏

my daughter had a resident and he was the best!! I'll forever be thankful for him, we unfortunately got him at the end of his residency- the next resident was so disappointing!!

I was an L&D nurse now NP. I keep a box full of thank you notes and messages from patients and families. When I’m feeling burnt out or down about work, reading these makes me remember why I do what I do.

Well, I am sitting in my masters program for dietetics. I am going to use these three things. I’m also a mother of two very involved sports kids and so I often feel overwhelmed. I will use these to remember why I’m doing what I’m doing.

How about listen to your nurses because they spend more time with the patients.
