@dangmepeople: DANGME FESTIVALS SEASON 2026: AYIKUMA NGMAYEM FESTIVAL BY THE FIRESIDE In the video, the women of Ayikuma perform the traditional Dangme Klama dance as Klama music and songs fill the night. Tonight in Ayikuma, within the Dangme Traditional Area of Sɛ (Shai), the community came together for By the Fireside, a traditional gathering dedicated to storytelling, cultural education and the preservation of history. Around the fire, elders share stories and traditional accounts of the Sɛ (Shai) State, keeping the memories of the ancestors alive while educating the younger generation and visitors about the rich history, traditions and cultural identity of the land. It is a special moment of learning and connection, where elders pass down knowledge, stories preserve the past, and the younger generation learns more about the heritage of their people. By the Fireside is more than a gathering around a fire. It is an opportunity to preserve the history, culture and identity of Sɛ (Shai) and pass the legacy of the ancestors from one generation to the next. This is the beauty of the Dangme Festivals Season 2026: celebrating our heritage, preserving our traditions and keeping our cultural identity alive. #DangmeFestivalsSeason2026 #AyikumaNgmayemFestival #ByTheFireside #Ayikuma #Sɛ
