George Costanza hangs up his call to let the answering machine answer, sitting back to enjoy popcorn as his custom answering machine message—sung to the theme song of The Greatest American Hero—plays out loud. One of the most hilarious and iconic TV answering machine gags in sitcom history! #seinfeld #tvshow #tvshows #90skids #90s

Claudia Pierce 🇨🇱🇩🇴 :

I saw a clip where Jason Alexander was on a talk show and so was Kat Denning. And she admitted that she has had this as her outgoing message for years. So he re-recorded it for her right there but he says “Kat” instead of George, and she’s fan-girling. It’s the best. 😂

Eric Hauser sr. :

THE ENDLESS SUMMER OF GEORGE CONTINUES

Kurt Barker :

HotCorn Studio :

I have had this for my own voicemail for a while now 😂

This has been my voicemail for probably 20 years

Matthew, the Magician :

This is my VM but I sang it. I also have call screening on. So you call me. You get the call screener that I don't respond to. Then you have to listen to this song only to get that my mailbox is full. I have reached Zen of people not contacting me.

NDMULDERX :

That’s gold!!

Jason :

I used to have this on my voicemail

hitchhiker1701 :

There is a great scene later in the episode when Jerry offloads his car and sings this song to himself.

Matt :

The fact that we know now that George had Broadway credentials prior to Seinfeld, and that we didn't know that at the time of Seinfeld, makes this even better

Elaine Benes :

I recorded this as my family’s answering machine outgoing message, I think it was 2 years before anyone went through the effort to change it 😂

Derkesthai :

Thats the fking intro of the american super hero
