Screwball question: just bought a 2015 ford escape 3 weeks ago and every time I put gas in it, the check engine light comes on for about a day. Any idea what that could be? I’m dropping it off with my mechanic tomorrow night but I just wanted to know what kind of financial outlay I’m looking at

For the abs tone ring what code would it throw? I have a 10 ford escape xlt v6 with abs, brake lights and traction control that comes and goes but the code it threw was like internal abs ecu malfunction something like that

This is very rare most people don’t put money into their car unless they absolutely have to like this is your main mode to transportation for most people you need to maintain it not just fix

Those escapes with the v6 are bulletproof. I know a guy that still has his original engine at 430k miles.

I just want to say thankyou for being so thorough. I was in an accident, car tire came OFF the car as it was driving and hit me. all cause the mechanic didnt torque the wheels down

Fun fact. An easy way to diagnose the tone ring is if it applies the abs when stopping for the first time after starting the car.
