Degree choice doesn’t matter as much if you have high agency. Just do any stem degree and be inter-disciplinary. I have a CS degree and I do CAD modeling, PCB design, Embedded systems, building ML deserialization scanning tools, designing custom headers for a 302 v8, and other projects. I work in Aerospace though lmao

I agree cos u can legit vibe code Cs helps but no longer a barrier to entry so might aswell learn other skills like econ management and finance to implement in the startup.

Maturing is realizing having interpersonal skills is arguably more important than the title of your degree anyways. I say title because whether u do maths or comp sci the amount of modules that coincide between any two degrees in a similar field kind of make it arbitrary sometimes

Is Finance + CS the method or cope for breaking into roles such as asset management/S&T? Obviously not as strong as maths/engineering/CS etc. in terms of technical ability but gives you the required financial knowledge and spare time to work on more technical side projects, cope or nah?

Willing to be that 10 years from now on, this is the worst possible take as other fields get transfered to be more ai friendly. The only singular reason AI has taken over software is that we have had verification loops that the models and harnesses can use for so long. We are already starting to see other subfields in IT get these implemented in, also traditional engineering, and math is basically a verification loop itself if you do not count problems that have no known answer yet (And horizontally scaled AI is perfect for bruteforcing problems). If you want to pick a safe field, go into psychology.

I'm doing theoretical physics, is it still worth getting really good at coding manually? Seems like a lot of time investment for something AI will always be better at
