@torch1982: Oct. 8, 2026 — The commanding officer of the USS Abraham Lincoln, Capt. Daniel J. Keeler, addressed the eight suicide attempts that occurred across his strike group during the carrier's record-breaking 321-day deployment. 🗣️ Keeler on the toll: Asked about the mental health crisis, he said everything the crew went through was "in the normal spectrum of what you might expect you see on an aircraft carrier." He added: "I had all the supplies I needed to conduct combat. We never missed a mission. I also never missed a meal." 🗣️ "The most important statistic is zero": "Zero lost aircraft, zero combat damage, zero lives lost. Every single sailor and Marine that left on this deployment is going home." 📊 The reality: Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao confirmed eight suicide attempts across the strike group — including the Lincoln's crew, air wing, and escort ships. The carrier spent 265 consecutive days at sea without a port call. Sailors reported food shortages, broken plumbing, and extreme exhaustion. Keeler says the ship deployed with five chaplains and a well-staffed mental health team: "We got our sailors any care they needed and got them back in the fight when it was appropriate." #USSAbrahamLincoln #USNavy #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention #Military

Well people living their daily lives attempt this. Its understandable that the rate will increase when they are put in a stressful situation. Its incredibly sad but thats just how that works, thats also why they have resources for them.
