@highballco: RIP Goat. James Gandolfini made one of the greatest performances in television history. New Jersey kid, Italian family, and he didn’t act seriously until his late twenties. Before that he was a bouncer, a bartender and a nightclub manager in Manhattan. He was 38 before most people had heard of him. Then Tony Soprano in 1999. Six seasons, three Emmys. A violent man you liked anyway, carrying depression and panic attacks. Truly a special character. He kept working in film: In the Loop, Where the Wild Things Are, Killing Them Softly, Zero Dark Thirty, The Drop, and Enough Said, a quiet romantic film released after he died that showed a completely different side of him. The style was perfect. Open shirts, dark jackets, nothing fitted. Off screen, shorts and a tee. He died in Rome in 2013, at 51. Far too soon, and nobody has replaced him.
