Occam's razor - the simplest explanation is often the correct one. This is an over analysis. It adds too many layers of complexity to a really simple explanation. Greed and power. AI is the next industrial revolution. Computers and the Internet are tools. AI is is a whole potential workforce that doesn't get paid, doesnt take time off and doesn't have a family getting in the way of making their bosses more money and power.
