@mikedfwrealtor: Wylie and Murphy are saying goodbye to their Flock license plate cameras. Wylie voted in August not to renew its contract for six cameras, and now Murphy has voted to discontinue its four cameras. The decisions come amid growing concerns about privacy, data sharing, regulation and uncertainty surrounding state funding. Flock cameras are designed to help law enforcement identify vehicles connected to criminal activity, but critics have raised questions about how the information is collected, stored and shared. Murphy’s cameras will remain operational until they’re removed, while Wylie’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of October. What do you think? Are these cameras an important tool for public safety, or do the privacy concerns outweigh the benefits?
