Crystal Harris is urging Jessica Biel to reconsider her role in an upcoming film about the Playboy Mansion, warning that the story must not turn Hugh Hefner’s legacy into Hollywood nostalgia. Harris, who was married to the Playboy founder until he passed away in 2017, shared a public message to Biel on Instagram after the actress was announced as part of the upcoming film Playmates. “Please reconsider playing Hugh Hefner’s ‘wife’ if this film intends to romanticize him or the Playboy world,” Harris wrote. She then described her own experience, claiming she endured se\*ual, emotional, financial, and physical ab\*se during her marriage. Harris also pointed to allegations made by other women involving r\*pe, coercion, dr\*gging, and exploitation. “There are also deeply troubling concerns involving minors,” she added, urging everyone behind the film to listen to the women who experienced life inside Hefner’s world. The movie will star Bill Pullman as Hefner and Lily-Rose Depp as a young aspiring Playboy model. Biel’s character is fictional and is not based on one of Hefner’s real-life wives. The film is being written and directed by Lorraine Nicholson, who has spoken about her own childhood experiences around the Playboy Mansion.
