@ditzycrazy101: Doorways The universe knows something I don't know how to plant a little light where broken wings still grow It sends a spark through the darkness, then quietly lets it fade leaving me to wonder what kind of mistake I've made I've grown accustomed to doors that open just a crack glimpses of a brighter world before they wander back A hand upon the handle, a shadow in the light, then suddenly the hallway is swallowed by the night I spend too much time counting what I've lost measuring every dream by what believing cost When something beautiful comes walking through the rain I'm so busy bracing for the loss I never see the gain Some doors aren't meant to stay open perhaps some open just to show there are still places I could go if only I would dare to see what could happen But somewhere in the silence when the moment has moved on I'll wonder if I missed a doorway because I thought it couldn't be mine Not knowing what was true: whether the universe was teasing me or it was showing me what it could do if I believed I deserved what's in the light.
