If the heat was lower and more controlled, it could have turned into citrine

The Thermal Phases of Amethyst 300°C – 400°C: The purple begins to fade or shift toward light yellow. 400°C – 550°C: Turns yellow, orange, or reddish-brown (sold commercially as heat-treated citrine). 600°C+: The color center is permanently destroyed. The stone bleaches fully into white/milky quartz and cannot regain its purple color, even if re-irradiated. Once bleached white, it is gemologically classified simply as quartz (or milky quartz if heavily fractured/clouded).

This is why you don’t put your crystals in the sun! Charge them in the moon, with a candle or your own hands, but DONT PUT THEM IN THE SUN.

WanaIoana :
the violet or purple color of amethyst is caused by trace amounts of iron (Fe³⁺) When amethyst is exposed to high temperatures, the thermal energy forces the iron ions trapped in its crystal lattice to alter their oxidation state. This permanently breaks down the "color centers" responsible for the stone's purple color

Fun fact: amethyst actually can lose its color under extreme heat, and it seems that "solar death ray" gave enough heat to cause the amethyst to lose its purple color!

You baked the impurities out of the amethyst. That’s cool. Amythest is quartz btw
