We went through Katrina in NOLA . Blankets ,pillows ,important paperwork , medicine. Get some cash , if you have room bring a cooler with some ice in it . Also fill your bathtubs with water before you leave so when y’all get back you’ll have water to flush with if there’s no power . Good luck and stay safe !

Freeze a cup of water and then put a coin on top after it’s frozen so when you come back you can see how long your power was out for and if your food is still good based off of where the coin ends up in the cup ☺️

🖤🖤This obviously isn’t a necessity but we evacuated literally last second (husbands job wouldn’t let him leave early enough) and I have a tote of my daughters “1sts” 1st outfit, first holiday outfit stuff like that and that’s the first thing I threw in car. I’m glad we did because we lost everything.. stay safe 🖤 and don’t forget to take a video of your house for insurance!!

Hey, next time, put the important documents in a book bag so it’s easy for you to grab in case of an emergency. You’re not gonna always have time to grab that bin. Also put in that book bag, flashlights, and batteries and a portable radio and couple water bottles that are frozen. and a small compact first aid kit And make sure you put the book bag in the passenger seat.

Depending where you are, taping vulnerable windows, close all doors, pick up items and put them on top of tables, beds if flooding is possible. If you have porch furniture or loose toys outside bring them in so they don’t become projectiles.

Take everything into the hotel with you especially important documents. theives like to target cars at hotels that look like people are moving because they tend to leave important stuff in the car and take clothes inside

Make sure the kids are wearing Shoes. My nephew evacuated Harvey and wasn’t wearing shoes 🤣 they had to carry his 50 lb butt everywhere 😭 I would bring a flashlight and comfort items for the kids. And a first aid kit.
