It took 7 years for me to leave. It was isolating. I never told a soul. I was so ashamed. Ladies or gentlemen you can heal. You can make it on your own. If you have kids, it's better to come from a broken home than to live in one.

My ex has done all of these. I left but my son is still going over there because the system failed us after our son was burned in his care. All the systems in place said not enough evidence & my son wasn’t a credible witness for himself! I felt & still feel defeated by this whole situation. I was in a long distance relationship with a man, he used to do weird stuff such as gaming rage (like real rage! hitting the joystick at the desk after losing, a lost game was ruining his mood for the rest of the day, a lost football game was ruining his mood, he did the silent treatment on me whenever he didn't like something I did or said, driving scary on mountain roads while he knew I was scared), the moment he yelled at me for doung my makeup to the beach and afterwards when a thing with hung clothes accidentally fell he punched the wardrobe as he was yelling at me, THAT MOMENT I said I'm not going back there. He also used to say "you're mine! ONLY!". I d8d my best to keep a low profile until I got to safety, then I gradually stopped talking to him. Luckily he is in another country.

He was jealous of my dog and my cats. If I was 15 minutes late he thought I was cheating on him and wanted to mutate my body. This is absolutely true! All of it! Be smart about leaving. Leave when they’re at work, not when they are home or they might kill you.
