@dangmepeople: DANGME FESTIVALS SEASON 2026: AYIKUMA NGMAYEM FESTIVAL BY THE FIRESIDE In the video, HRM Nana Lamuede II, Manyɛ (Queen Mother) of Ayikuma, dances to the traditional Dangme Akpasa music. Watch her energetic footwork as the drums and songs fill the night, celebrating the vibrancy of Dangme music and dance. Tonight in Ayikuma, within the Dangme Traditional Area of Sɛ (Shai), the community gathered for By the Fireside, an event dedicated to storytelling, cultural education and the preservation of history. Around the fire, elders share stories about Ayikuma, other divisions and towns within Sɛ (Shai), and the wider Dangme people. These stories keep ancestral memories alive, educate the younger generation and preserve the rich cultural identity of the people. By the Fireside is more than a gathering around a fire. It is an opportunity to pass ancestral knowledge, history and traditions from one generation to the next. This is the beauty of the Dangme Festivals Season 2026: celebrating our heritage, preserving our traditions and keeping our cultural identity alive. #DangmeFestivalsSeason2026 #AyikumaNgmayemFestival #ByTheFireside #Ayikuma #Sɛ
