my arms are COVERED in DEEP, LONG, WIDE scars from trying to remove motivated, intact, Angry cats.
ive fought Sevral ~200lb dudes Willingly, but ive never delt with an intact angry cat unless it was gor significant money, or the welfare of the animal

I would choose the cat, ONLY because i have over a decade of experience handling fractious cats. i can read and predict a cat pretty accurately, i tend to avoid men in general lol

Chaotic Goat Curiosities :
I'd rather f*ght the 2400lb, 19hh, draft horse I have to shoe at work every single day of my life than deal with my still slightly feral cat on his bad days ever.
Now the behavioral euthanasia thing feels very extreme in this case, but I see the point you're trying to make there.

Calamity :
As humans I think we catastrophically underestimate animals because they're often smaller than us and very seldom motivated to aggression...but I don't think there's a single vertebrate on this planet I feel confident I could beat in a fight over another human. We just do not win.

I think very few people has seen a cat actually be motivated to harm a person like they've seen a cat on defense but not one who is choosing violence for violence sake

I have the sweetest cat in the world. If she needs to correct me because I missed a cue, it is always SO gentle. She's injured me twice in the 6 years we've been together, completely on accident both times. Brother when I tell you if she decided she wanted to end my shit, it would be fucking curtains for my ass.

as a cat care professional, there's a lot of questions I would ask about that cat & its environment before I went to behavioral euthanasia, but yeah, you really can't just "scoop" an angry cat up. with the right tools, yes (my tool of choice is a bath towel, I ain't fancy), but bare handed, absolutely not

honestly even in my crippled state id still want the 200lb dude. cats can carry grudges oddly. it's a aspect of their behavior and it's something that can be trained out but has to start early on if notice of grudges are a thing. if I have to go handle a feral ill put on my leather gloves with arm and chest/neck guard. can wrestle a feral at that point but I just feel abusive even if it was just to contain and protect the cat and myself.

the person every time. any pet that aggressive is a problem anyway, but that's a little thing that is orders of magnitudes faster than me with knives for fingers. I don't want the smoke with Freddy krueger with super speed.

I will always choose to fight an animal over a human dude. An animal fighting that hard is rooted in fear and survival. probably a female defending their young, which means *backing* off quickly is the best choice.

As the physics joke goes, cats are liquid (they take up wherever space they’re in, like a bowl). But they’re also boneless toddlers. It’s often like trying to clutch and hold on to jello. Simply naw

I threw the cat outside for attacking my wife. Was pissed off about a new kitten (how we learned kitten was male, not ours on either case), decided it was done and ambushed her as she walked passed the bar stool. It wanted to rip my arm off for pulling it off her. Only time I've been frightened handling an aggressive animal. Shredded sleeve of my carhart.

I've worked in vet med my whole life and I'll take the cat, but if i DIDN'T have the years of experience actually handling and dealing with stressed out animals including cats, I might have a different answer.

It’s not so much the size as the fact that a cat, really any animal, plays by a very different set of rules of what’s acceptable in a fight. Like bringing 12 knives and some stimulants to a boxing match.
