@eatlocalnewyork: I stopped out to Zaman Coffee House in Camillus to check out some of their pastries. They recently went through a really big overhaul of their pastries and croissants. They’ve built out their own bakery kitchen, hired a pastry chef, and are using French butter in their croissants, putting an incredible amount of effort into each one. They’re even baking them fresh every single morning, right on site. When I heard all this, I knew I had to stop out and check them out. First up is their pistachio croissant. It’s a buttery, flaky croissant filled with pistachio cream and topped with roasted pistachios. The result is an incredible bite of food that’s buttery, flaky, sweet, and salty in the most perfect way. This is right up there with Butter Block in Buffalo and Butter Joy in Rochester. Make sure you get out to Zaman at their Township 5 location in Camillus or in North Syracuse.
