Artificial intelligence is supposed to describe a machine exhibiting behavior we'd consider intelligent if a human did the same thing. But given some of AI's spectacular blunders lately, perhaps we should reconsider the terminology. Artificial intelligence isn't intelligence. Artificial intelligence isn't intelligence. Artificial intelligence isn't... well, apparently, intelligence. Enter Donald Trump, who has decided that Artificial Intelligence sounds too artificial, so now the government must call it Super Intelligence. Because apparently, if you give something a cooler name, you don't have to prove it deserves the name. Meanwhile, AI can confidently deliver complete nonsense, defend it with impeccable grammar, and explain in detail why it's right. If we have to rename intelligence to make it sound smarter, what does that tell us about the intelligence we're talking about?
