You don’t have to physically punish any human being whether a child or an adult to get your point across with your hand, a belt or any other object as an adult gnome wants to be hit why would anyone hit their child as punishment if you parent correctly you do not need to cause fear and physical violence. Let them know that you’re disappointment or their repercussions would have things taken away, etc. why physically assault anyone at any age is beyond me
