Just cuz people seem to be confused. Dean is injured and bed ridden but Sam finds out an old childhood friend who was a monster was killing people. He leaves Dean behind (bed ridden) to go confront childhood friend. Friend admits she’s been killing but only bad people and because her son (also monster) was very sick and needed fresh human meat (she had been working as a mortician and feeding her and her son dead human flesh). Son was now better so she told Sam she was done. Sam reluctantly agreed to let her go. Sam reunited with Dean, who’s now somewhat better, and tells him everything. Dean then goes off on his own, finds Sam’s childhood friend, and even after she also explains to him she’s done, he tells her there will always be another reason and even if it’s 10 years from now she will kill again and kills her. Son then walks in, but since he hasn’t killed yet, Dean lets him live. But as he’s living the son (like 12 years old) tells him he’s going to kill him someday. Dean acknowledges it and leaves the child alone in the motel room with his dead mom. He then lies to Sam and lets him believe that he agreed to let her go. It’s only after a leviathan who had taken the form of Dean and got his memories told Sam that Dean killed her

Was it messed up? sure. Justified? Maybe. But he wasn’t wrong with the assessment that there will always be another reason to go kill more people. Dean leaving the son alive is a clear line he is drawing in the sand. The kid did nothing wrong yet. Now, Benny was also on the same line as the kid after he got resurrected. If he killed anyone, Dean would willingly kill him. Consistency, not hipocracy

I lowkey agree w what he did bc Benny didn’t need human blood and Garth didn’t need human hearts, but that woman and her son needed human parts and if he got sick again, she would’ve started going after live people again.

Description of the episode On prime: Dean is furious when Sam disappears to follow a case identical to one of his childhood. The monster turns out to be the same demon as Sam Found years ago… I’m in Season 6 ep 6 for the third time and I don’t remember what happened in that episode🤣🤣
