‼️Having trouble getting beardies to eat greens?! This is one of the biggest things aside from husbandry I see a lot of people asking for help with or talking about. I personally have had a hard time with this as well and I really hope someone can gain insight from this because it has helped me tremendously with my dragons. The best is to start young. I don’t offer bugs first. In fact, I never do for my juveniles or my adults. As hatchlings you have to keep the protein intake high, but grooming them at this stage will set you up for much better success when they get older. After the lights come on I wait about 4-5 hours, so around noon time before I begin feedings. They have had plenty of time to warm up and poop anything from the day before. I offer greens to start. An assortment is always best for them. Then after an hour or so I give them their round of bugs (supplements as needed). I feed them all accordingly based on size. I do not over feed and if my adults are being picky not touching greens, I will fast them 24 hours at least before offering bugs again. This seems to do the trick to get their appetite up. I do not compensate for bugs because as they get older their diet is primarily veggies anyways. If you continually compensate for high fats/protein diet you will have health issues down the line. I love all my beardies very much and want only what’s best for them, not exactly what THEY THINK IS BEST. If they could, they would eat bugs and bugs only, all day long! Please share with someone you know having issues 🙏 Have a great weekend ! 🐉👍💙 #beardeddragon #beardeddragonsoftiktok #reptiles #reptilesoftiktok
