@a.l.gamache: Nesta and Elain were not perfect sisters. Feyre was not a perfect sister. Like when she returns to the night court from spring, she immediately has to get her rocks off. Like BITCH, a month ago your sisters were abducted, assaulted, and “made.” CHECK ON THEM. Can we stop stanning Feyre and realize the three of them were children, and they’re parents were shit? #acotar #acotarseries #nesta #feyre #feyrearcheron
Because the author intentionally wrote her to be awful in book 1. Then decided to retcon some of it in later books. SJM is poor at consistent characterization.

Because society will always blame the eldest daughter when she fails at being a parent to her siblings and holds anger/resentment for it.

I saw a tik tok that said Feyre never complained about house work or cooking. It’s fair to assume Nesta and Elaine stuck to the traditional housework roles while Feyre was hunting.

Idk what people want from Nesta at this point. There are people who still viscerally hate her after Silver Flames. People are entitled to their opinions, but I don’t think there is anything SJM could do to make those people like her.

1. Her dad should have stepped up so I hate him.
2. I believe Nesta was 17 when Feyre first started hunting and then was 20 in the first book. 20, or 21.
is Feyre an unreliable narrator? I mean I guess, but just because she could be doesn't mean what Feyre said isn't true.

because why should an eldest daughter should be worried about their younger sister going to hunt to the woods and fighting down with the other about who needs the newest boots?

People also hate her because she’s “mean” to Feyre which is ridiculous some people just don’t get along with their siblings like it’s not illegal

I was telling my friend we always talk about the responsibility of being the oldest daughter and how it’s wrong to parentify them, then we have nesta who downright refused to be parentified by their father and everyone hates her.

I think a lot of these girls who blame Nesta are the younger siblings who only care about themselves and can’t see past their own perceptions. I think this is an extremely generalizing statement, I know that, but a lot of them do think that their father isn’t to blame for Nesta’s shortcomings, which is awful because everything that happened also affected Nesta too. It really is selfish for Feyre to believe she’s the only one valid in her feelings when here two older sisters also have feelings. It’s just a younger sibling who complains about everything and anything she can and hope that someone can be like “oh poor baby, let me take this off your plate.” She should’ve been more mad with her father than her sisters and I’ll die on that hill.

I’ll never understand why everyone blames Nesta. Mind you she’s three years older than Feyre, which isn’t a lot at all. And Elain is two years older than Feyre too. Neither Nesta nor Elain should be blamed because of the choices their parents made. They’re awful parents and shouldn’t have made their youngest child (or any of their children) bear that much of a responsibility. I’m an older sister myself (with a six year age gap) so I completely understand Nesta.

Her dad gets a pass when he was by no means helpless. He was educated, he could have found some form of work but he just gave up and somehow thats Nesta's fault? Nesta told her dad Feyre was going to go hunting, hoping he woukd step up and HE let his 14 year old go hunting, not Nesta

I think it can all be stripped down to Sarah J Maas not really knowing just how important Nesta would become to the books later in the series and so Nestas character development felt off to some.

I think bc a lot of people can relate to it and put themselves in feyres shoes. They believe that nests should of helped with at least something instead of maybe all of them relying too much on her but also feyre never asked for help soooo there’s that 🤷🏽♀️

People want a perfect version of everything, but it’s unrealistic.Nesta was is four years older than Feyre so she had to be 18 when Feyre went into the woods, bless Feyre’s heart for doing that but she wasn’t obligated to do that it was her fathers job,you can’t bash Nesta and Elain for not doing something that wasn’t their job because Feyre did it.And at the end of the day Nesta was still a kid too bro that’s why when people say she “let”her sister go into that woods it pisses me off she didn’t let her doing anything her father did.
