@scamsentinelapp: A flood hits the news, and then this text shows up: families need you tonight, and the fund can only take gift cards. Vector shows you what's wrong with it. Three signs: a deadline, a link, and gift cards only. The FTC says scammers create fake charities that seem official, or borrow a well-known charity's name. It also says legitimate charities will accept donations in many different ways. Don't tap the link. Paste the text into Scam Sentinel, and if you still want to give, look the charity up yourself and donate on its real website. Early access: link in bio. Send this to the most generous person you know. #charityscam #fakecharity #donationscam #textscam #scamalert #scamawareness #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth
