The scariest part about this is, Lodi is learning what happens in the past but is living in the future, a man coming from the 50’s or 60’s and learning all this must be suffocating and he is valid for breaking down emotionally

The sheer level of death and destruction that occurred in the collapse, you often wonder to what extent how everything got so bad. Like we know the Last Days on Kraken Mare and some of the ghost of the deep weapon lore tabs talked about the sheer level of destruction they experienced on Titan. Same with some of the exodus ship lore books including for Neomuna’s ship and the ship that carried the would be awoken. But man, I wanna know what the collapse was like on earth.

Imagine living your life, regular day at the office, got a coffee that day and maybe you’ll go to a diner for dinner. Ran into the same people you normally do, saw your friend briefly. Then, something happens. You’re thrown so far into the future, a different planet, a different time. Everything is alien, doesn’t make any sense. You live, adapt, try to get back home. Then, one day, a familiar face finds you but they don’t remember you. You can tell something’s different. Then they tell you; everything ended. Everything you knew, died or was destroyed. You get told that’s old news and it almost happened again but this other stranger was able to prevent all of it with the helps of others like them. Destiny could’ve been so good story wise, and yet they couldn’t get the vibe. Imagine if they actually leaned into the vibe they had from d1 OG trailers? Man I wanna explore a world w my friends and get into some nefarious activities for loot. The world should’ve been gritty, dark, and unforgiving. Death should’ve felt more real. Cayde 6 dying was so good bc it finally felt like something actually fkn happened

I really wish we got more context of the events that transpired during the Collapse. If Destiny were to ever make a series, I think one covering the events of the Collapse and the Dark Age would be the absolute best setting. I mean, lore entries like this one make me wonder what it was like.

the collapse, golden age, and the books of sorrow in short form videos, would do amazingly well. for the hive though it would need to be like a whole season cause that spans millions of years from fundament, to the tens of thousands of worlds they slaughtered.

Every single time dark Destiny shows its head in cutscenes/in game/in lore, all I think of is this; What would Destiny look like if it was rated M for Mature instead of T for Teen? How dark could they finally go? Blue Eliksni blood on the ground in brutal scenes, the fallen Guardians ravaged, the Hive able to well.. be the Hive properly. It’s so fascinating.

Since d2 is coming back, it would be really cool if the guardian gets stuck in the past, like days prior to the collapse and is given a chance to change the past

if only EoF wasn't the introduction of the portal system, ya I think it fell short in the new gameplay mechanics as well but the portal is what truly made it suck for so many people
