This is why you don’t report on annualized run rates of hyperscalers

So basically the same as all other over hyped tech ipo’s. Facebook was supposed to take over the world not too long ago. Buy the rumors sell the news

Any AI service provider is making a loss. They're getting their tech and service so embedded with corporations and workflows that they'll pay whatever price they demand in a year or so when the prices soar.

Which S-1 are you reading first? That is where the audited numbers finally show up, instead of run rates.

I think OAI won’t go public for a while because they don’t want model control outside the company.

I think the bigger issue here is that they picking and choosing the numbers supplied. For example, how are they treating Training Costs. In some views it is an ongoing cost that never goes away because if you stop training, you get passed and customers leave you. However in the projects they are offering, Training Costs are not reoccurring, but more like an infrequent thing you can depreciate out (which seems to me like BS). So really what they are projecting is here are the numbers before we count bad things - and they can get away with it for the moment with some people. My own gut feel is they also need to start factoring in costs they haven’t yet realized like Insurance to cover the things the models do, the law suits, the political contributions to keep people from being able to sue them for putting out an unsafe product, for negligence, and so on.

This reminds me SO much of the insanity around derivatives in the 2000s. Which led to the 2008 Great Recession. So yeah.
