@therecordpromoter: Formed in Los Angeles in 1977 by top tier session musicians, Toto became one of the most versatile and technically accomplished bands of the 1970s and '80s. Known for seamlessly blending soft rock, pop, arena rock, and jazz fusion, the band's core lineup included guitarist/vocalist Steve Lukather, keyboardist/vocalist David Paich, keyboardist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and bassist Mike Porcaro. "I'll Be Over You" Overview Released in August 1986 as the lead single from their sixth studio album, Fahrenheit, "I'll Be Over You" stands as one of Toto's signature power ballads. Songwriters: Steve Lukather and Randy Goodrum. Lead Vocals: Steve Lukather, featuring distinct backing vocals by Michael McDonald. Chart Performance: Climbed to No.11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and spent two weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Themes & Meaning "I'll Be Over You" explores the bittersweet reality of trying to move on after a heartbreaking breakup. The lyricist reflects on the emotional struggle of letting go of someone who remains deeply entrenched in their thoughts and heart. The central message balances reluctance with acceptance: the singer insists that they will eventually get over the relationship, but only when time finally heals the wound or "when the sun stops shining." #toto #illbeoveryou #80smusic #lovesongs #80sthrowback
