“And for their saying, ‘Indeed, we killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.’ But they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear to them so.” The Jews neither killed nor crucified Prophet ‘Isa عليه السلام. Rather, Allah saved him from them and raised him up to Himself. It was made to appear to them that they had killed him, while in reality they had not. There was discussion regarding the details of what happened and who was made to resemble ‘Isa عليه السلام, but there is no doubt that ‘Isa عليه السلام himself was neither killed nor crucified. Allah raised him to Himself. “And those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And certainly, they did not kill him.”
