drinking is fine, getting black out drunks once is OK as long as its once and never again. become a constant burden to your loved ones and society as a whole with no intention of stopping makes you a bad person

It's interesting that this comes up as a I'm going through revisions in my own story about addiction. Alcoholics aren't bad people, but like you said it depends on what they do when they are sober and when they are drunk. Bojack and Rick Sanchez are a$$holes when they are sober so they are just bad people in general. Being alcoholic doesn't change that for those characters. Usually there's an underlying reason why someone becomes addicted to alcohol. It usually enhances traits (good or bad) that are already there.

tbh alcholics arent all bad. i know alcholics who dont really destroy anything or act out they just drink alot.

I think (as an addict to **** and other things) that I won't disclose overcompsuntion and gluttony are morally bad because you're hurting yourself, I see self-harm of any kind as immoral
