You claim that clothing contributes to sexual harassment, but have you ever stopped to consider why children, fully covered women, men, elders, and even animals can become victims of sexual abuse? Do you expect animals to dress modestly too? Should we blame a cat for not wearing clothes when it becomes a victim of sexual violence? At some point, you need to question the logic behind your own argument. A person’s clothing is not consent. Modesty is not a guarantee of safety, and revealing clothing is never permission to harass or assault someone. Even if you believe clothing can influence someone’s attention, that still does not excuse the decision to violate another person’s boundaries. Being a man is not an achievement that makes your arguments automatically correct. What matters is whether you can think critically, recognise the difference between personal responsibility and victim-blaming, and hold perpetrators accountable for their own actions. If you want to call yourself a man, start by understanding that women do not owe you a particular style of dress to deserve safety and respect.
