Completely derailed my life.. I was a straight A student, never received less than a 95 on ANYTHING, was on track to get into my dream school of Vanderbilt. Wanted to follow in my grandmas footsteps to be a neurosurgeon… He passed, my grades slipped, I ended up dropping out of high school… didn’t attend college.. now in my 30’s, I started at community college, and transferred to Vanderbilt! I know he’d be so proud, even if it took a decade longer to start than planned
