They aren’t talking about the way it looks or how bad it will be, what people are posting is that we here in La and Ms are being told his going completely east of us , after the fact it was coming right towards us. Like Katrina - then all of a sudden within 24 hours of impact, it wasn’t going east anymore. Plz stop telling people that live where hurricanes hit, to stop comparing or chill out. The eye is almost in the same place. A 3 can still be extremely destructive

Don’t even!!!! Katrina was an extremely slow moving cat 3 at landfall which is what made her so devastating! This is a very fast moving cat 3 that will likely have a drop in strength before landfall.

Katrina was 5 in the Gulf of Mexico but when it hit landfall it was a cat 3. The movement of Katrina was 15mph but had super high wind speeds as of 125 mph. The flooding was caused by storm surge, winds, rainfall, and the levees breaking. (Not sure on what truly happened with the levees) This hurricane that is currently making its way is cat 3 with high storm surge and high winds but idk if it’ll push to the limits of Katrina. When you think of the differences you have to take everything into consideration. They probably won’t be the same 🤷♀️. If anything we might get something like Hurricane Ida.
